Iphone is not sold any where expect the U.S. Will start selling in Europe by end of the year. You can only buy Iphone with an AT&T 2 year subscription contract, so you will end up paying a lot of money for it that is if you can have a friend or relative who is a resident in the U.S and even if you get it after paying the phone price+2 year subscription plan you will get a locked phone that only works on the AT&T network, you will need to send it to a specialist to unlock it and then it can work on any GSM network.

Libya deal for firms – ZTE and Huawei

TRIPOLI: Chinese telecom firms Huawei and ZTE have won contracts worth $75 million to expand the mobile phone network in Libya, the state-run telecommunications office said yesterday.

A total of $58m has been awarded to expand the existing network of the Libyana public mobile phone company from one million lines to 6.5m lines, a statement said.

ZTE and Huawei will also expand the mobile network along the Libyan coast.

In line with a second contract worth $17m, Huwaei alone will install the first phase of a fibre-optic network in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Connect To The Internet Using AL Madar GPRS

You heard about connecting to the internet using al madar new feature, get 15kb/s of transfer rate for 10 dinars a month ?

Well, here is a tutorial, the deal is connecting your laptop or pc to the internet using your al madar cell phone and bluetooth:

First of all you need at least 11 LYD of credit in your Al Madar sim card, send an SMS to 8989 contains “gprs“.

You will get a message that have configurations for your phone, after configuring your phone, here comes your laptop or pc:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth enabled cell phone and turn on the Bluetooth connection software.
  2. Make the phone discoverable.
  3. In Windows XP on the laptop go to My Bluetooth Places.
  4. Select View Devices in Range.
  5. After the discovery process is complete you should see the icon for the cell phone.
  6. Right-click on the icon and select Discover Available Services.
  7. To connect to your cell phone right-click on the Dial-Up Networking.
  8. Select Connect Dial-up networking.
  9. The phone will ask if you want to accept the connection request, decline or add to paired.
  10. The last step pairs the phone and laptop and performs the connection request.
  11. You will be prompted to enter a PIN code to pair up the devices, the PIN is entered in the cell phone.
  12. A dialogue box appears asking for user name, password and the phone number of your ISP.
  13. Leave all empty but fill in phone number so it will be “*99#
  14. Click on the dial button to complete the connection.

That’s all, simple and clear and needs no genius to figure out.
